Yesterday and This Morning on the Webcams

These shots illustrate a 5 minute steam release event yesterday. Tepco time stamp approximately 7:30 a.m. May 20.

Steam then CLEARED ENTIRELY briefly but was followed by a second steam event:

I realize that some viewers may think my "steam releases" are actually low-lying fog.

I understand that interpretation, but I don't think it is accurate because the steam moves so very quickly and the view was entirely cleared before the next event started, within 10 minutes of the first event.

I grew up in the San Francisco bay area and went to college at San Diego State. I lived by the beach. I"ve never seen fog behave the way it did in these images. Perhaps Fuku fog is unique, but I'm betting it has something to do with the extraordinarily hot buildings and all the contaminated water at the site.

Tepco cam this morning  looks very odd and TBS is obscured entirely
