CIA Operation EYE WASH

I strongly recommend reading this article on CIA propaganda aimed at its own employees:

Greg Miller and Adam Goldman January 31 , 2016. ‘Eyewash’: How the CIA deceives its own workforce about operations. The Washington Post, https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/eyewash-how-the-cia-deceives-its-own-workforce-about-operations/2016/01/31/c00f5a78-c53d-11e5-9693-933a4d31bcc8_story.html?wpmm=1&wpisrc=nl_headlines

Senior CIA officials have for years intentionally deceived parts of the agency workforce by transmitting internal memos that contain false information about operations and sources overseas, according to current and former U.S. officials who said the practice is known by the term “eyewash.”

Agency veterans described the tactic as an infrequent but important security measure, a means of protecting vital secrets by inserting fake communications into routine cable traffic while using separate channels to convey accurate information to cleared recipients.

But others cited a significant potential for abuse. Beyond the internal distrust implied by the practice, officials said there is no clear mechanism for labeling eyewash cables or distinguishing them from legitimate records being examined by the CIA’s inspector general, turned over to Congress or declassified for historians....

Not surprising really. What is surprising is that its being reported in The Washington Post.

  2. We are back in the Middle Ages?, but without a shred of the high moral standard of that time -- granted that it was often flagrantly violated. Apart from laws which are frequently ignored we have currently no widely held moral standard in America. Am I over stating things? Perhaps I am crediting a widely held moral standard with more potency than it ever had or could have. I have noticed how infrequently concepts like loyalty, honor, fidelity, etc. are used. In our society trust is a rare item. The spirit of the time does not encourage people to indulge in these rather high minded notions. However, moralizing will not make anything better. Maybe we as an age are simply butting heads with the human condition which seems unchanging and rather antagonistic to our "better angels". The CIA and their operators will do anything. Certainly It will also conceal everything. Its minions will not even reveal the EO by which President Truman created the It. We are clearly in the "dark wood" in these matters. If we put these and many others irrationals under the microscope what do we actually see? Suddenly we are deep in a finely written tale looking directly into minds that are different from ours. A strange landscape these minds. But it all makes a kind of sense. Whether they are deceiving other people or starting up a nuclear power plant that is liable to melt down in a few years or sooner. One thought leads to another with inevitability as though they were robots set in motion by some mysterious power about which neither we nor they know anything. We are at a dead end, a cul de sac. Lucifer and Satan have become common place ideas frequently used on the net. Some seem happy dumping the whole mess in His backyard. But it is not very satisfying. At most we join in with centuries of blaming "Old Harry" for the world's ills! I have a theory which critiques our idea of intelligence. How can we call someone intelligent who lacks ethics? Our concept of intelligence is a partial concept which does a good job of predicting success in university courses, etc. but says nothing about the persons social behavior or grasp of other human beings. Psychopaths are deemed intelligent even though they act beastly toward others. I seriously question this.

  3. Bob Woodward is a cia spook working for the washington post. He was involved in watergate, plmegate, th obama mcchrystal debacle. The tentacles or multiple alphabet soup spook agencies run deep in the evil empire and the fatherland. They even have front paper propaganda organw like the washington post to disseminate. It is amazing how far they will go too. Like with Gary Webb. Look at what gw bush did using fbi cointelpro against quaker antiwar activists during the iraq debacle. It boggles the mind.

  5. There are all the military intelligence for each branch of the military that work by military bases. There is the fbi and their cointelpro operations that spy on peaceniks. Their is the dept of homeland security now. There are multiple nasa agencies. There is the dea which works with dhs cia fbi nsa military intelligence since the patriot act. there is probably intelligence linked to the nuclear regulatory commission through any one of those agencies.the us spends way more spying on and manipulating its citizens than it does any kind of infrastructure or programs for citizens well being. lawyers spooks crooked politicians. People knew abou jim webb a long time ago.

The fact that the fbi and millitary intelligence was still so active in spying on all peace activists and antinuclear activists in 2005 tells you something. They probably still are , only worse now because they have more power. They were using checkpoint in 2005 too. Spooks galore http://m.democracynow.org/stories/6465
Pentagon Caught Spying on U.S. Anti-War and Anti-Nuclear Activists

Newly leaked Pentagon documents have confirmed the military has been monitoring and collecting intelligence on anti-war groups across the country. Peace protests are being described as threats and the military is collecting data on who is attending demonstrations. We speak with William Arkin, the former Army intelligence officer, who obtained the secret Pentagon documents. [includes rush transcript]

AMY GOODMAN: The Pentagon also now has a toll-free number for citizens to report suspicious activity directly to the military. The number of the hotline is 1-800-CALL-SPY.

  7. Educate yourself was once a website completely devoted to fukushima denial, fukushima coverup, lies about the fukushima meltdowns. It has now taken on the murky world of conspiracy theory to hide its true motives as a fukushima denier. There was nothing on the site about chemtrails, ben fulford, new world order, alternative health etc till 2014. It changed its format from complete fukushima denier and fukushima misinformation promoter to appeal to the chemtrails nwo audience. Very interesting propaganda tactic would one not say? It was linked to fukushima denier and pronuclear sites like rational.wiki and kentucky fried science before 2013 and 2014. The website appeared post 311 and has been chamelion in its appearance for the past fer years. Notice waht it says about Jim Stone. Notice chem trails. It is a flip cover for a supposed antinuc act i think because it does not go after real antinuclear activists like helen caldicott or harvey wasserman or mimi german or arnie gunderson It is still a fukushima denier and radiation denier and pronuc website buried in a bunch of mumbo jumbo as you can see here. The named editor of the site ken adachi has been dead since 1999.

  8. Great discussion!

Sociopaths and propagandists sometimes make me feel hopeless about likelihood of change.

However, it is better to strive for truth and change, even knowing that one's efforts may have no impact, rather than choose nihilism.

  9. So a few more steps and who will be able to distinguish us from Soviet citizens during the Stalin years? I used to think to myself that only with the complicity of the citizen of the USSR could it hold together; now the same is true to the USA. But it is hard for everyone to agree to at midnight take a stand and turn the nation off until the criminals depart. It could be done (in a film at least). We all celebrate New Year's Eve at midnight. A national strike some midnight would be quite a scene. Of course the hospitals would need to keep going and a few other things. But all non emergency traffic would stop. It would be like Super Bowl Sunday but for a far more mature purpose--no beer or chicken wings. No, it will never happen like that. More likely the US will fade out and become so weak it will collapse and need to glued back together and if lucky get a Putin like man for a leader and if unlucky just sink into the slim of bad karmas.
