Fukushima Daiichi Alert

Something strange is going on today at Fukushima.

First, the atmospheric conditions look clear on the Futaba cam but there is some sort of haze/smoke/steam or whatever it is hanging in the sky, as viewed from cam 1:

What makes this stuff more concerning is the strange glow in the sky over Daiichi visible from the Futaba cam:

Whatever is going on is UNUSUAL. It follows a brief press release by TEPCO a couple of days ago that there was an electricity outage at the plant:
Power outage at Fukushima nuclear power plant causes machinery to shut down. Kyodo Jun 28, 2016 http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2016/06/28/business/corporate-business/power-outage-fukushima-nuclear-power-plant-causes-machinery-shut/#.V3Ka0qKYKXM

The operator of the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant said Tuesday a power outage halted some systems but that no problems were detected in the cooling of the three melted-down reactors.
I recommend those people in the vicinity watch the cams carefully.

As I type this post, visible emissions are increasing on both cams and the light is spreading. I'll post updates if my Internet stays up (it already went down this morning).
